Description:

The Northwest Montana History Museum presents the 1951 thriller Strangers on a Train in July for its Movie Night at the Museum film-study series. The film will be shown in the Swanberg Classroom on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, and will include prescreening remarks provided by host and educator Jacob Thomas.

Directed by a master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock adapted the film from the novel by Patricia Highsmith. Strangers on a Train depicts the tumultuous relationship between tennis star Guy Haines (Farley Granger) and psychotic socialite Bruno Anthony (Robert Walker) as they decide to trade murders.

Disaster ensues when Bruno completes his end of the bargain, and expects Guy to do the same. What follows is a chilling descent into obsession and psychological terror. Listed as one of the best films of 1951, Strangers on a Train puts viewers on the edge of their seats.

Doors open 6:30 p.m. and the screening begins 7 p.m. at the Northwest Montana History Museum, 124 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. Admission and popcorn are free. Soda, water, beer, and wine are available for purchase. Seating is provided, but viewers are welcome to bring their own cushions or seating.
